In general
Across all entries, SMS compares extremely well with national averages:
- 98% of students achieved 4 or more across all subjects — 30% above national average and much higher in some subjects
- 64% of students achieved 7 or more across all subjects — 43% above national average
- 19% of students achieved 9 across all subjects — 14% above national average
In comparing our boys with boys nationally, our averages at 4 and 7 are even better
- Nationwide, only 12% of students take 10 GCSEs or more — all of our students took 10 GCSEs this year
- Nationwide, only 1.8% of students take 11 GCSEs or more. That puts 6 of our cohort in the top 2% of the country
In core subjects — English, Maths and Science — SMS is well above national averages at grades 4 and 7
