St. Michael's welcomes all families who seek a strong Catholic Education for their children. We rely on a strong partnership with parents, especially in terms of spiritual and moral formation. Whilst pupils or their families are not required to frequent chapels of the SSPX, or other Traditional Catholic communities, in order to be admitted, all admissions are based on the expectation that parents and pupils support the school’s distinctive Catholic ethos, notably in regard to its doctrinal teaching and liturgical practice and  its recognition and respect of the Pope and the Diocesan Bishop.

Admissions will always favour children from traditional Catholic families, particularly those that frequent SSPX chapels with siblings already at the school.

Prospective parents are invited to make appointments to meet the Headmaster, and the Head of Secondary and/or the Head of Primary. Parents will be able to tour Saint Michael’s School before registering their child(ren).

For entry at Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, entrance is based on the following criteria:

  • A written statement on why prospective parents wish their child(ren) to study at St. Michael’s

  • Parent and Pupil Interview
  • Entrance exam/assessement/test
  • Report from current school or previous schooling experience
  • Availability of spaces in the appropriate year group
  • Family links with the school

The admissions process will normally take place during the Autumn term. Places are offered for entry to the School in the following Autumn Term.
